Lawrence D. Frey, Jr., 71, of Shunk, PA, passed away peacefully at the Frey Homestead on July 2, 2014.

Born on February 2, 1943 in Shunk, Lawrence Decker “Larry” Frey, Jr. was the first son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Leona G. (Brown) Frey. He was a graduate of Loyalsock Area High School and later earned an Associates degree from Keystone Community College in La Plume, PA. In earlier years, Larry enjoyed working in farming, electrical and plumbing trades. He later found his calling as an owner/operator cross-country truck driver for the next 20 years.

Larry had a special attention for details and design. He customized the cab of this truck and was currently building his own home from plans he developed. He was a member of The Brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow and was active in Forksville’s PA Bow Hunters Festival from its beginning. As a young man, he earned the Boy Scout of America’s honor of Eagle Scout and attended their prestigious Philmont Ranch in New Mexico.  Larry always appreciated nature, especially Sullivan County's Camp Brule’, and supported many Scouting improvements there.

Surviving are his two sons; Larry Frey III of Sayre, PA and Steven (Tatsuko) Frey of Lawrenceville, GA; three grandchildren, Megan Frey, Andrew Plossl and Evan Frey; two sisters, Ina (Donald) Harding of Athens, PA and Lillian Waldeisen of Williamsport, PA; a sister-in-law, Maureen (Swisher) Frey of Unityville, PA and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Larry also leaves his friend and companion, Bea McCue. He was predeceased by a brother; Don Frey and daughter; Susan Plossl.

Larry's burial was across from the Shunk United Methodist Church in the Quaker Cemetery.
